Communication and Leadership for Production Designers: Intent vs. Impact on Set

October 26
12:00 - 13:30 ET
United States

As production designers, your creative vision is only part of what you bring to set. You also lead teams, set the emotional tone, and navigate constant communication under pressure. This 90-minute workshop explores the often overlooked distinction between intent and impact and how greater awareness of that gap can deepen collaboration, improve morale, and transform on set dynamics.

We’ll guide participants through reflection, communication tools, and interactive scenarios inspired by real life production moments. The goal is to offer production designers a toolkit for clearer, more effective leadership grounded in mindfulness, equity, and presence.

Participants will walk away with:
•A deeper understanding of how intent and impact shape communication
•Self awareness practices for navigating high-stakes environments
•Tools and phrases for real-time repair and clarity
•Set specific scenarios to apply these insights directly to their teams
•A renewed sense of confidence and care in how they lead
