Creating “Paris, Texas” – Screening and Q+A with Kate Altman

The now-iconic “Paris, Texas”, a 1984 neo-Western drama road film directed by Wim Wenders and co-written by Sam Shepard, has become a touchstone for filmmakers and film-goers alike.

Production Designer Kate Altman will discuss the film’s visual themes, and share stories from its production.

The conversation will be moderated by filmmaker Anna Rose Holmer. Holmer (“God’s Creatures” 2022, “The OA” 2019, “The Fits” 2015) is known for her kinetic, visual storytelling which Rolling Stone called “cinema poetry in motion.”

The Cherry Lane Theatre is the oldest continuously running off-Broadway theater in New York City. The theater is located at 38 Commerce Street between Barrow and Bedford Streets in the West Village neighborhood of Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City. The theater has recently reopened under new management by production company A24.
