Focusing solely on young production designers / art department professionals of South Asian origin working in their home countries or other, this conversation is an attempt to represent the current young fearless generation with an equal exposure to both western and eastern aesthetics who have gone against traditional career choices, broken away from rigid patriarchal South Asian societal structures and are navigating work on their own terms.
Focusing solely on young production design professionals of South Asian origin working in their home countries or abroad, this conversation is an attempt to represent the current dynamic generation with an equal exposure to both western and eastern aesthetics who have gone against traditional career choices and rigid patriarchal South Asian societal structures and are navigating work on their own terms. It’s also an attempt to demystify working in cinema and to bring forward the various work opportunities that art department has to offer. There exists a notion, even now, that the film industry is too glamorous, quite unscrupulous and perhaps not the right career choice specifically for women.
This is an attempt to break all these perceptions and to bring forward the beauty of creating worlds that this department specifically has to offer.
