“Every image embodies a way of seeing” wrote art critic John Berger in his influential 1970s book ‘Ways of Seeing’. Following in Berger’s footsteps, our panel will explore our own preconceived notions – about form, beauty, class and taste – as production designers and image makers. Panelists will discuss the connection between our subconscious, society’s conditioning and our art, and will suggest ways to dismantle our visual prejudice.
Panelists:
Akin McKenzie (The Woman King)
Christian Goldbeck (All Quiet on the Western Front)
Diana Trujillo (Los Billis)
Moderator:
Inbal Weinberg (The room next door)
Watch this recorded panel from the 2024 Production Designers Gathering, an international conference for and by production designers.
