About the Organizer:

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Urban Films Festival, Legacy West Media, Rick Carter, and Ellia Art Gallery present "Design+," a unique cultural exhibition and sale of works combining cinema, art, design, and urban cultures. This exceptional exhibition unveils collector drawings, models and rare artifacts from the personal collections of Rick Carter, Oscar-winning production designer (Back to the Future Part II and III, Jurassic Park, Forrest Gump, War of the Worlds, Avatar, Star Wars VII and IX, etc.), British costume designer Joanna Johnston, a loyal collaborator of Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis, whose costumes have marked the history of cinema (Indiana Jones, Back to the Future Part II and III, Forrest Gump, War of the Worlds, Mission Impossible, Jurassic World, etc.), and also French production designer Anne Seibel (Munich, The Devil Wears Prada, Marie-Antoinette, Midnight in Paris, Emily in Paris, etc.) In the spotlight: cult pieces from the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future, including the DeLorean and the Hoverboard, as well as a focus on the connections between Hollywood culture and urban sports such as skateboarding and BMX, echoing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The exhibition is curated by François Gautret, who curated the Hip-Hop 360 exhibitions at the Philharmonie de Paris and Spot24 with the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

From October 20 to 26, 2025, Design+ celebrates the collective imagination and the exchanges between cinema, art, and urban cultures, during an exceptional week also marked by Art Basel Paris,
International Production Design Week, and the 40th anniversary of the Back to the Future saga.
