Based on the New York Times bestseller, Pachinko is a sweeping saga that chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations as they leave their homeland in an indomitable quest to survive and thrive.

These panelists will dive into the world building that went into bringing Min Jin Lee's novel to the small screen and the filmmakers' experience working in South Korea. <br.
Panelists include:

Kogonada - Director: Kogonada is a Korean American filmmaker. He has directed 'Columbus' (2017) and 'After Yang' (2021).

Justin Chon - Director: Justin Jitae Chon is a Korean-American actor and filmmaker. He has directed three films, Gook, Ms. Purple, and Blue Bayou. He is also known for portraying Eric Yorkie in The Twilight Saga film series. He is a member of the K-pop parody group Boys Generally Asian.

Mara LePere-Schloop - Production Designer: Mara LePere-Schloop is a production designer in film and television. She designed The Alienist, Mrs. America, two seasons of Interview with the Vampire along with other films and TV shows. She resides in New Orleans, LA.

Production Designers Guild of Korea was established by art directors working for the development of Korean films. PDGK's purpose is to defend the rights and interests of Korean film art directors, promote technology and human exchange in film and video culture, and foster professional manpower in film art to contribute to the development of Korean film and video culture.
